Now remove old paint of your furniture using scraper. If necessary, you can apply the stripper several times. Before applying the stripper several times, you need to check how many layers your furniture has. Also, you need to consider the appearance you want to achieve before deciding to apply extra layers of stripper to distressing furniture.

Other method we can try to distressing furniture is dry brushing. Dry brushing is the easiest technique and the only technique of distressing furniture that requires least supplies amount. Start this technique by preparing brush that’s very dry. And then use the dry brush to distress the surfaces of your furniture. Also, prepare paper towels you will need to ease you wiping off the excess paint.

Sanding is the other method you can try for distressing furniture. To sand the furniture, we can use hand sander, sandpaper, or sanding block. To distress your furniture successfully, sand your furniture on the places that have been worn naturally such as the edges and near the handles. Or you may want to try Vaseline method to distress your furniture. To do this method, you need to use petroleum jelly before painting the furniture with the final paint.
